Theo Cramer, Ed.D - Maryland School Administrator

A school administrator from Laurel, Maryland, Theo Cramer, Ed.D, has served in educational leadership since 2002, when he took a position as principal of Laurel High School. Since that time, Dr. Theo Cramer has served in a number of different education administration positions, including his most recent roles as a community superintendent of Howard County Public Schools in 2017 and superintendent of schools for the Isle of Wight County Schools starting in 2022.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Cramer has managed large budgets, secured grants, and maximized resource allocation. He has brought in more than $10 million to the Isle of Wight County Schools while serving as superintendent. He has also developed expertise in cultivating collaborative relationships with students, parents, staff members, school boards, government agencies, and community partners. He has collaborated with local law enforcement to improve safety measures and protocols and has a successful track record of recruiting, retaining, and developing quality educators and diverse teams to support district-wide goals.

As superintendent of schools for the Isle of Wight County Schools, Dr. Cramer has constructed new tracks and tennis courts and provided schools with additional buses. He has also helped the school district’s central office relocate. In addition, he has helped raise test scores, exceeding the state’s average in every category.
